Seniors have big impact on students
Rather than luxuriate in her golden retirement, Bensalem's Eleanor Mammino volunteered for critical, hazardous duty.
Hazardous in that when she arrives for her volunteer job at Faust Elementary School each week, a roomful of exuberant second-graders nearly bowl her over as she enters.
Yeah! Mrs. Mammino. Mrs. Mammino is here!
Critical, because her being in the classroom means kids get some extra one-on-one help, and it comes with gentle eyes and a warm smile.
